Australia Day 1

Part 2 of our holiday began today and after the hard party nights and socialising in New Zealand it’s time to start relaxing. We had a ridiculously early start (5am NZ time) which I totally did not consider when booking the flights. However it meant we arrived in Sydney at 9.45am Sydney time so we still got a whole day in!

Freya picked us up from the airport and we headed back to their apartment in North Sydney across the harbour bridge, my first bit of sight seeing and we’ve only been here for an hour!
Their apartment was in crow’s nest, a nice little town with many restaurants and cafes lining the streets.
We headed to meet Dan for lunch at the Commodore hotel. The cocktail list had a lot to offer, I opted for a toffee apple (vanilla vodka, apple liquor and apple juice). Then we shared the spicy buffalo wings which had the most amazing blue cheese dip, followed by the pulled beef nachos with salsa, guacamole and sour cream.
We then chilled at the flat until Dan and Freya got home, I was supposed to get my nails done but the early start was catching up with me so we just relaxed. Any good nail bar suggestions let me know!
We ended the day with a little BBQ on the balcony; steaks, chilli, ginger and garlic prawns and an apple, nut and goat cheese salad. A great way to end the day and to top it off a Tim Tam for desert!
