Clocks go back this weekend (I know right!!!) which means it’s officially winter I’m afraid, but with the cold season upon us let’s look at the silver lining – we obviously need to update our winter wardrobes too! And what better place to do so than my favourite highstreet store – Oasis.
I was walking through Argyll street on Sunday after a delicious afternoon tea at Sketch (that’s another story…) and of course had to pop into Oasis, I honestly could have bought the entire store! That’s something I have always loved about Oasis, they dress their mannequins so well in outfits that are wearable head to toe with the pieces hanging nearby so you don’t then have to search the entire store for an item you saw on a model…
There was definitely a prominent theme throughout the store and that was red: Deep maroon reds paired with vibrant blood red and even some burnt orange thrown in for good measure, yup red is THE hottest colour of the season and as Audrey Hepburn said, ‘There’s a shade of red for every woman’. So find yours in my picks below:
Let’s start with probably one of my fav outfits I’ve seen this season! Ticking all the boxes here with the colour pallet, sport luxe trousers and knitwear. The polo will go with sooo many other outfits too, check skirts, prince of wales trousers, leather shorts… Love it! Trousers: £38 Core polo: £25
Next up, the suit. I have seen this suit EVERYWHERE! That’s because it’s so great, it does office, it does after work drinks, it does Christmas party, it does date night, it does STAND OUT. It’s smart and it’s fun, you can wear the items separately or as a whole for the red on red look, be braver and team with the red polo neck or turn up the heat with a black bralet top. Blazer: £65 Trousers: £40
Cool, cosy and collected! The jumper dress is back and if you don’t fancy going OTT red this little number is a great option to team with red boots, red beret or some kind of red accessory! Who’d have known that these red tones would look so good together. Snuggle up on the sofa with your Ugg Boots or put on the thigh highs and add a statement necklace. Sweater dress: £40
The statement coat. There’s loads of them on the highstreet but this has got to be top of my must have list. I love the feminine shape and structure, it’s very elegant yet cutesy, after all it is called the Princess coat! £90
How amazing is this little number! Christmas party anyone? OR even halloween this weekend you could be a real sexy vamp in this dress, especially as this seems to be the year of dressing pretty with the odd creepy accessory. Midi length and bodycon fit creates a gorgeous shape and exaggerates our curves in all the right places 🙂 You will certainly turn heads, or maybe even heads will roll, Happy Halloween! Spot mesh velvet midi: £55
Finally, if you want a little piece of the pie but don’t fancy going all in then get a little taste of the action with this red bobble hat. The perfect accessory to any autumnal outfit. Beanie: £14
Whilst you’re browsing the Oasis website, check out their new collection – Happily Ever After In Lace – a collaboration with the antique lace of the Nottingham Trent University archive,
So what’s your favourite piece? Happy shopping!
